We were born to create. An art piece, a meal, friendships, a life. Making things is how we make life feel good and beautifully meaningful.
Somewhere along the way, that instinct has become muffled. Technology can do things for us in seconds, but speed is not the same as the fulfillment of the process. It’s been a struggle to find the balance between creating by hand and letting AI take something off your plate. We get a little sad to see so many dupes pop up, but too few bold new ideas. Art does not belong only on screens. Food is meant to be prepared, shared, and savored. Life feels better when we are connected to the earth, to ourselves, and to each other.
Creating is not extra. It is essential and we need to be reminded of that, often.

There is something healing about creating. Not the finished product, but the process. Even when the process is messy. It usually goes like this: “this is awesome, this is tricky, this is crap, I am crap, wait… this might actually be awesome!”
Instead of just going to AI, we wanted to push back a little. So we came up with a campaign called Cooking Up Something Good. The idea was simple. Our logo burned into a piece of toast, popping out of the toaster, sitting next to bacon and eggs. Sunny side up, because that is how life should be lived.
The idea made sense. The execution did not. We tried the broiler. Then the toaster oven. Nothing worked, and the stickers kept melting. It would have been easy to stop there, but we had an idea and had to bring it to life.
So we painted the bread by hand. And somehow, it worked. Perfectly cooked toast.
The point is this. Don’t stop creating just because it gets hard, messy, or frustrating, or because there is an easier, faster way. Stay in it. Push through. You might find out that what you are making, and part of that is you, turns out to be pretty awesome.
